COVID-19 and the Jordanian government
The airports of Jordan are open again, and travelers are welcome to visit our beautiful country. Since the COVID-19 pandemic is not over yet, safety protocols are in place. On the special Visit Jordan website, you find the official government information.
COVID-19 and Wadi Rum Nomads
We are excited to welcome you (back) as our guest and know that fantastic experiences await you in Wadi Rum. As always, we are also committed to providing you with a memorable time as we remain committed to your, our personnel, and the local community’s health and safety.
We follow the governments’ guidelines. Because of that, you will find some COVID-19 safety protocols in place. Most of them will be familiar. Others might be new to you. As time goes by, these protocols are subject to change. We adapt as necessary and appreciate your patience as we navigate through this ever-evolving, challenging situation together.
We do our part. Do you join and do your part?
Booking and cancellation. We are open to inquiries and bookings. Booking is risk-free as we don’t ask for a deposit, and cancellation for reasons related to COVID-19 is for free at any time.
Before arrival. When we don’t feel well, we stay at home. Please do the same and stay at home if you feel unwell (as stated before, you can cancel for free).
When with us. We do social distancing and maintain at a safe distance (1,5 meters). Please take no offense in us not shaking hands. Wearing a face mask when outdoors is not mandatory. But feel free to wear one to be and feel safe. When indoors in our office or camp, wearing a face mask is required. And last but not least, we clean our hands often. And upon entering our office and the communal tent in our camp, sanitizers are available.
During the tour. Our tour groups are limited to a maximum of 8 guests. Shared tours are limited to two groups/bookings with a maximum of 6 guests sharing the tour.
Mealtime. All meals are served buffet style. If we have multiple groups, our personnel will serve the food to your table.
Wadi Rum Base Camp. Currently, we restrict our camp’s capacity by 50% to 15 guests (sleeping outdoors near our camp included). In addition to that, we limited the number of groups/bookings that we except per night to five. So, advanced planning is key if you want to be sure that you can stay with us.
Cleaning. Our camp has the reputation of being a very clean place. We always paid a lot of attention to cleanness, and we implemented standards that are appropriate with the current situation. And in addition to the cleaning, sleeping tents are vacant for at least 24 hours after use.
Sleeping outdoors in our ‘cave’. Our place offers enough space to accommodate up to 16 guests. Currently, we restrict the number of guests to 8 guests if it is one group. We accept a maximum of two bookings per night with a maximum of 6 guests.
